How to reprogram the rear buttons:
*Disclaimer, please note the LED may not work on every remap chip, but the function of the remap chip is not affected.
1. Programmable Remapper
Using the P5 Programmable Remapper:
- In order to use the rear back buttons/ paddles, you must first Enter the “programming” mode.
- To do this, the following key combination must be held together, as long as possible, until the LED lights up continuously white (about 3 seconds):
- L1 + R1 + square + D-pad right
- Then you hold the back button/ paddle button and the Controller button you want to map at the same time, until the indicator LED goes out (about 3 seconds) •
- After the LED went out, the button/ paddle has been mapped, and you then need to repeat this step to map the other buttons/ paddle buttons.
2. Using Pre-set mode:
Saving Presets:
- So that you can quickly switch between different back button mappings on the fly, pre-sets can be saved.
- You can save up to 4 Presets.
- To do this, the following key combination must be held together, as long as possible, until the LED lights up continuously white (about 3 seconds)
- L1 + R1 + triangle + D-pad Right
- Then you hold either: X, O, triangle or the square button until the indicator LED stops blinking.
- You then need to follow step 1 above to set your back buttons for your preset.
- A preset can be saved on each of the four Face buttons mentioned.
- For example, you can save a different preset under X, Circle, Square and Triangle.
- To switch between presets, you will need to hold
- L1 + R1 + triangle + D-pad Right, until the LED lights up continuously white (about 3 seconds)
- Then you hold either: X, O, triangle or the square button until the indicator LED stops blinking. For example, if you have held down X, you have now chosen the X preset back button mapping, follow the step to change to the Circle, Triangle or Square presets.

HOW TO CALIBRATE YOUR CONTROLLER STICKS!
Here’s a clear, step-by-step guide to calibrating your PS4 / PS5 controller sticks using the DualShock Calibration GUI, ideal for post-mod installs like Hall Effect or TMR sticks, or just to fix minor centering and range issues and restore precision.
Xbox Series and Elite Series 2 Controllers can be calibrated using the Xbox Accessories Application on PC or Console.
🛠️ What You’ll Need
- A PS4 or PS5 controller
- USB cable (Bluetooth is not supported)
- Windows PC or Linux machine
- Access to the DualShock Calibration GUI
🧭 Step-by-Step Calibration
Guide
1. Connect Your Controller
Plug your Controller into your computer via USB.
Make sure no other controller software (like Steam or DS4Windows) is running.
2. Launch the Calibration GUI
Open the DualShock Calibration GUI in your browser.
The tool uses factory-level USB commands to access calibration settings.
3. Center Calibration
Follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate the neutral position of both
analog sticks.
This resets the controller’s internal reference for “center,” which is crucial
for eliminating drift.
4. Range Calibration
Rotate each stick in full circles several times.
This step maps the full range of motion, ensuring accurate input across all
directions.
5. Save to Firmware
Once calibration is complete, click Save Permanently.
The changes are written directly to the controller’s firmware, meaning they
persist across all devices — no need to recalibrate again unless you swap
sticks or notice new drift.
